We’re looking for someone to join a growing company and begin working 20-30 hours a week with the opportunity to become a full-time employee in the near future, becoming part of the foundation within the company. The applicant should know basics of home repair but not necessarily a trained tradesman or have working experience in the trades. The most important trait at Expert Level is the personality and professionalism, so even if you have spent the last 15 years behind a desk, you could still be a fit!

 

Expert Level’s most important asset are our customers and we have earned those customers by being professional, personable and approachable. And the right applicant should have those traits, as well as having a knack for knowing how things work. All of our projects are in or within a 35 minute drive of Naperville, so living in the area will be beneficial to your drive time.

 

Trained skills aren’t necessary, but if you have any past experience with a few of the projects below or around your own home, that’s a plus!:

 

• Knowledgeable of operating a cordless drill, circular saw, jigsaw, various hand tools.

• General Handyman Tasks such as installing curtain rods, hanging artwork, electrical fixtures including light fixtures, outlets and switches, plumbing fixtures including toilets and faucets, wall-mount TVs.

• Hanging drywall, taping, mudding, sanding and finishing

• Crack and hole patching and repair

• Interior and exterior painting

• Caulking and waterproofing

• Laminate and hardwood flooring installation

• Vinyl, ceramic, and specialty tile installation

• Base mold, trim and custom carpentry

• Deck building, repair and refinishing

• Gutter installation and repair

• Fascia/soffit/siding installation

• Water damage repair

• Pre-hung door installation

• Screen/storm door installation

• Door hardware replacement

 

As this position has to do with home repairs and improvement and many times working alone, there are some requirements vital to functions of the position:

 

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Able to lift at least 50 pounds of equipment

• Climb a 25-foot ladder

• Must be able to remove and install fiberglass insulation

• Be on your feet for multiple days in a row

• Work on ceilings and above your head

• Spend days working in inclement weather
